Your day to day
Searching for an opportunity that just adds up? We’re looking for a new Cost Controller with a strong enough grasp of the figures to balance managing hotel assets,
Cost Monitoring and Analysis:
- Track and monitor costs associated with projects, operations, or business units.
- Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations to ensure that spending is in line with the budget.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and investigate discrepancies.
Budget Preparation and Management:
- Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and track spending to maintain cost control.
Cost Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost reports, including monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Document and maintain cost control procedures, standards, and protocols to ensure compliance.
- Review financial records and transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, external regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure that all cost-related documentation is available for review.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, department heads, and other teams to forecast costs and manage budgets.
- Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making in various areas of the business.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to manage cost-related issues and negotiate pricing or contract terms.
Cost Control Tools and Software:
- Utilize cost management software and tools to track, report, and analyze costs.
- Implement and manage systems to improve cost efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
Cost Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend strategies for improving cost efficiency.
Support cost reduction initiatives and ensure that efficiency improvements align with overall business objectives.
What we need from you
● Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting or Finance
● Or three years in hotel accounting or internal audit with one year in a supervisory role
● Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
● Must speak fluent English
