Director, Decision Intelligence


The Director, Decision Intelligence role will enhance our Global Sales Strategy (GSS) team’s ability to apply data-driven thinking through a strategic sales lens effectively. This role is critical in shaping forward-looking decisions that will drive business growth over the next three to five years. Operating as a key strategic advisory function to our Global Sales Organization, the position will engage with field sales, commercial teams, Global Sales customers, and partners, along with IHG hotels, ensuring stakeholder perspectives inform high-impact strategic decisions. By assessing industry, regional, and competitive dynamics the role will identify opportunities and risks that influence IHG's go-to-market sales strategy and make recommendations on sales actions. Additionally, it will evaluate the effectiveness of past strategic initiatives and provide senior leadership with future-focused recommendations to enhance sales execution and competitive positioning.
Your day to day
- Support the growth of a high performance team culture within the Global Sales Organization’s Strategy team.
- Analyze and synthesize data from various sources (quantitative and qualitative), applying a sales lens, to inform forward looking decision-making options for the Global Sales Organization.
- Interpret and present financial models and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on revenue generation, global pricing strategies, and program performance evaluations.
- Oversee a team responsible for deploying insights to global field-based sales teams, enhancing seller efficiency and customer engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional senior leaders to understand regional and cultural impacts on B2B and B2B2C travel strategies.
- Evaluate key segments including Corporate Business Travel, Groups & Meetings, Leisure, Luxury & Lifestyle, Government, Airline, and Project business segments.
- Support 3-5 year strategy roadmap by staying informed of industry trends and competitive profiling to provide timely insights and recommendations on Global Sales strategic roadmap.
- Develop and refresh corporate strategy using analytical frameworks and financial modelling, communicating outputs to stakeholders
- Conduct scoping, resourcing and mobilization for approved strategic initiatives (PMO Office)
- Work alongside GSS Strategy Directors in development and measurement of GSS strategic plan
- Partnership with GIAD on modelling framework, automation, and consistent delivery
- Delivery of select projects with Global Sales PMO and evaluation of impact
What we need from you
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Strategy, Finance or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
- 10 years of progressive work experience supporting strategic decision-making with exposure to a broad range of business issues involving customer interactions
- Demonstrated planning and project management skills to assess and develop strategic plans based on business needs gathering insights from multiple sources to make recommendations
- Demonstrated strategic thinking with a proven ability to analyze markets, performance data, and business issues and draw insight / conclusions and comfort communicating those to Senior Leadership.
- Strong interpersonal / communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across business units for collaboration, with customers and industry partners.
- Decision framework and delivery to global leadership
- Process to sync up intelligence from global regions
- Prioritization and communication of opportunities based on measurement of impact and topline revenue opportunity
- Forward thinking sales planning recommendations
Travel – up to 50%

The salary range for this role is $100,000.00 to $184,000.00. This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable). We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
