Director of Revenue Management

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Leadership & Management:

  • Lead revenue management agenda for defined “markets”.
  • This position requires individual contribution in collaboration with Revenue Manager
  • Hire, train, and manage team to drive Revenue Agenda with all colleagues.
  • Guide and train Reservations and Front Desk teams to achieve Revenue Optimization.

 

Forecasting:

  • Focus on Total Revenue Management for the property to include its substantial contribution from Food & Beverage. 
  • Oversee revenue management reports and information for all stakeholders.
  • Support and lead Revenue Manager whose responsibilities include preparing all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts, using forecasting systems.

 

Strategies’ Analysis:

  • Create Annual Budgets and 5 Year Long Range plans with Key stakeholders and present outcome in respective meetings.
  • Review month end reports for Rooms and F&B performance to drive change and long term goal to increase profitability.
  • Evaluate, together with Revenue Manager, in-house conferences and define strategy for profit improvements. 
  • Conduct displacement analysis of group business, as needed, to determine impact potential business will have on RevPAR.
  • Use weekly booking pace reports and analysis on pace, recommending strategy changes when needed.
  • Challenge and discuss past and present trends and make recommendations for future strategies.

 

Management & Maintenance of Group & Transient Inventory Controls:

  • Lead review meetings and implementation of transient rate strategy via RMS and CRS systems.
  • Conduct spot checks on tentative and definite group bookings, to ensure implemented strategies are being supported.

 

Develop, monitor and adjust sales and pricing strategies:

  • Support Revenue Manager during weekly sales strategy meetings to evaluate respective booking period for proper rate and availability control.
  • Support Revenue Manager in review of weekly and monthly sales data for 365-day window, to include group rate, extended stay rates, transient demand and forecasted updates.
  • Develop annual transient pricing. Ensure pricing is consistent in all distribution channels (CRS, GDS, OTA)

 

Competitive & Demand Analysis:

  • Spot check all competitive shops on a consistent basis and work with Revenue Manager on identify selling strategies and market trends.
  • Review demand calendars, convention calendars and city event calendars to keep abreast of all demand generators.
  • Produce value assessment for competitive set twice a year, together with together with Revenue Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Maintain historical data on events and performance on any promotions during demand-generating events.

 

Role is property based 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Revenue Management leadership role.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written, German language skills preferred
  • Ability to use various property management and reservations systems.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Understanding of microeconomics as it applies to the hotel business.
  • Proficient in effective hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization, and selling strategies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and training abilities.

 

Accountability:

  • This role is accountable for managing the hotel’s revenue-related strategies, achieving and exceeding RevPAR Index, RevPAR goals and KPI´s in F&B Revenue Management, primarily in a full-service, luxury, or resort setting with catering and/or convention facilities.
