Auckland has officially welcomed New Zealand’s first Hotel Indigo to the neighbourhood. The “City of Sails” sets the backdrop for this boutique upper-upscale hotel, drawing inspiration from local artists for its design, service, amenities, food and beverage. The 225-room hotel is part of a mixed-use development in Auckland Central, with stunning views of the city and Auckland’s iconic harbour. It's among Auckland’s tallest buildings, maintaining the façade of the original historic building with a new world-class hotel to accompany and honour its heritage listing.

We are excited to be seeking applications for a motivated Finance and Purchasing Assistant to support our Manager of Finance and Business Support. This role is a blend of managing financial transactions as well as handling purchasing activities for the hotel. If you are a problem solver with a knack for numbers and an eye for smart spending, we’d love to hear from you! 

A little taste of your day-to-day 

  • Support the set up and maintenance of suppliers and debtors in our purchasing and finance systems
  • Coordinate with department leaders to confirm procurement needs and specifications 
  • Assist with receiving and logging incoming stock and deliveries, as well as monitoring and managing inventory levels
  • Assist and support with financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable 
  • Work with our Finance and Business Support Manager to support IHG and owner group audits and preparing reporting requirements
  • Support internal control checks in compliance with our company policies

What we need from you 

  • You may be someone already familiar with the world of hotels, and wanting to grow into a financial role
  • Education and understanding in Accounting or Finance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience  
  • Familiarity with financial software and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, you’ll pride yourself in your interpersonal abilities
  • Must speak fluent English  
  • Full working rights within New Zealand with no restrictions
