At Shiki, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of an award-winning team, showcasing authentic Japanese Teppanyaki in the heart of Adelaide. As a Commis Chef, your role will be integral in delivering unforgettable dining experiences . 

At Shiki, your passion for presentation and flavor will ensure every dish is a masterpiece, whether preparing vibrant Teppanyaki at our live stations or contributing to our Feed Me options and à la carte menu, while maintaining high standards of consistency and culinary expertise, ultimately creating unforgettable dining experiences and lasting memories for our guests.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Make each meal a feast for the eyes and a treat for the taste buds. With your own signature flare, you’ll turn our high standards into memorable meals for every guest
• Own your kitchen – keep on top of supplies and equipment, and minimise waste
• Helping with washing up and other kitchen duties where needed
• Taking on other ad-hoc duties like a true team player 

What We need from you:

• Similar experience in a commercial kitchen ideally in a hotel environment
• Right to legally work in Australia 
• Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider
• Compliance with local laws on food safety and handling
• Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to 
• Flexibility – night, weekend and public holiday shifts are all part of the job
• Team player with a collaborative approach to work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
• Look smart – wear your uniform with pride and adhere to personal grooming and hygiene standards
