An assistant laundry manager's responsibilities include:
- Inventory: Taking inventory of linens and uniforms, and laundry supplies
- Equipment: Operating and monitoring washing, drying, and dry cleaning machinery, and reporting faulty equipment and maintenance needs
- Training: Training employees on laundry procedures, safety procedures, and equipment operation
- Quality control: Inspecting linens and terry for damage
- Budgeting: Assisting the laundry manager in controlling costs and expenses
- Formulas: Developing washing formulas for stained loads
- Safety: Following company safety and security policies and procedures, and reporting any accidents, injuries, or safety hazards
- Communication: Speaking with others using clear and professional language, and preparing and reviewing written documents accurately and completely
- Relationships: Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others
