Job Scope

As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all guests using the resort’s swimming pools and recreational water facilities. Reporting directly to the Recreation Manager (or their delegate), you will actively monitor pool areas, enforce safety regulations, respond to emergencies, and provide exceptional guest service in line with IHG standards.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Maintain constant surveillance of all swimming pools and designated recreational areas to ensure guest safety at all times.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, accidents, and rescue situations, administering first aid and CPR when required.
  • Enforce pool rules, safety procedures, and resort policies in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of pool areas, rescue equipment, and safety devices to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide guests with information regarding pool facilities, operating hours, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards around pool and recreation areas.
  • Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and incidents promptly to management.
  • Complete incident and accident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support recreational activities and guest engagement initiatives when required.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
  • Promote a welcoming and positive atmosphere while delivering excellent guest service.

 

What we need from you

  • Valid Lifeguard Certification from a recognized training provider.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
  • Minimum 1 year of lifeguarding experience, preferably within a hotel, resort, waterpark, or recreational facility.
  • Strong swimming and water rescue skills with the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of pool safety procedures, rescue techniques, and emergency response protocols.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional under pressure.
  • Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors for extended periods.
  • A responsible, proactive, and safety-conscious approach to work.
