We're looking for passionate, high-spirted individuals to join the pre-opening team at Kimpton Riyadh, the very first Kimpton hotel in the Middle Each. About Kimpton Riyadh

Located in King Abdullah Financial District which is set in the heart of the Saudi capital, 22-kilometers away from the airport, Kimpton Riyadh is the first Kimpton in the Middle East bringing the brand’s playful energy, infectious personality, and unique design style to this LEED certified landmark development home to 1.6 million square meters of state-of-the-art office space, world-class venues and iconic luxury residences. An In Room Dining Order Taker plays a key role in ensuring guests receive prompt and accurate room service. Here are the typical day-to-day activities for this position:

Day-to-Day Activities of an In Room Dining Order Taker

  1. Handling Guest Orders:
    • Answering phone calls from guests placing in-room dining orders.
    • Taking detailed and accurate orders, including any special requests or dietary restrictions.
  2. Inputting Orders:
    • Entering orders into the hotel's point-of-sale (POS) system to ensure they are communicated to the kitchen and service staff.
    • Verifying order details to prevent any mistakes or misunderstandings.
  3. Coordinating with Kitchen and Service Staff:
    • Communicating with the kitchen to ensure timely preparation of orders.
    • Coordinating with service staff to ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms.
  4. Providing Menu Information:
    • Offering guests information about the menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods.
    • Making recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary needs.
  5. Upselling and Promoting Services:
    • Suggesting additional items or upgrades to enhance the guest's dining experience.
    • Informing guests about special promotions or seasonal offerings.
  6. Handling Guest Inquiries and Complaints:
    • Addressing any questions or concerns guests may have about their orders.
    • Resolving issues promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  7. Maintaining Records:
    • Keeping accurate records of all orders and transactions.
    • Preparing reports on in-room dining activities and guest feedback.
  8. Ensuring Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:
    • Following all health and safety regulations related to food handling and service.
    • Ensuring that all orders are prepared and delivered in a hygienic manner.

Skills and Qualities Needed

  1. Strong Communication Skills:
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests, kitchen staff, and service staff.
  2. Attention to Detail:
    • Ensuring accuracy in taking and inputting orders.
  3. Interpersonal Skills:
    • Building rapport and maintaining positive relationships with guests and colleagues.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Addressing and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  5. Organizational Skills:
    • Managing multiple tasks and maintaining detailed records efficiently.

 

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration 

• Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role

• International luxury hotel chain background

• GCC exposure

• English Fluency is required 

• Arabic Fluency is preferred

This may involve taking on additional responsibilities as needed, especially during periods of high occupancy or in emergency situations.
