InterContinental Muscat – General Manager
We're in search of a driven and pragmatic leader to manage the iconic InterContinental Muscat. Nestled in Muscat's urban beachside, our five-star gem features a stunning beachfront location, expansive gardens, and views of the majestic Hajar Mountains. Situated in the prestigious residential and diplomatic quarter, it offers elegant event spaces for up to 500 guests. With inviting pools and close proximity to the Royal Opera House, Mutrah Souk, and Muscat’s City Centre, InterContinental Muscat invites guests to explore Oman.
In line with our growth vision and unwavering pursuit of excellence, we're on the lookout for a seasoned Luxury General Manager to lead our property and steer our team towards success. You will be ensuring unparalleled guest experiences and operational prowess. Crafting and executing strategic plans for business expansion while respecting Omani cultural intricacies will be pivotal. Additionally, you'll foster a harmonious team environment, adeptly navigating bureaucratic hurdles, and overseeing renovation projects to align with ownership objectives.
Our ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in luxury hospitality management, particularly in the Middle East, coupled with an ambitious yet grounded leadership approach that upholds Omani cultural values. Demonstrated proficiency in profitability management, meeting Omanisation quotas, and adeptly manoeuvring complex stakeholder relationships is a must. Stellar interpersonal skills, effective communication, and resilience in handling diverse processes and stakeholders round off the essential qualities we seek.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
• Leading the commercial and operational activities of the hotel properties.
• Lead and develop a business plan to drive owner returns.
• Recruiting, leading, managing and motivating a strong team, upskilling, recruiting, measuring and managing performance.
• Reviews and implements strategic initiatives to drive commercial performance across the Hotel and its facilities.
• Prioritises relationships with guests and external contacts such as current and potential clients, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers and local communities.
What we’d like from you:
• Prior upper luxury hotel general management experience, preferably in the GCC market.
• Ambitious yet pragmatic approach to leadership, capable of driving results without sacrificing sensitivity to Omani culture.
• Genuine team development, guest, and owner focus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on effective communication and relationship-building.
• Must speak fluent English. Fluent Arabic would be highly advantageous.
