Your day to day
Culinary Excellence:
Develop and create innovative and diverse menus in line with the restaurant's concept and target audience.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring the highest quality and consistency.
Monitor and maintain food costs while optimizing menu profitability.
Kitchen Management:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
Set and enforce kitchen standards and protocols, such as food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and ensure efficient operations.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Schedule shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure all staff members are well-prepared and motivated.
Address performance issues and provide constructive feedback for skill development.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with the restaurant management to create and update menus to meet guest expectations and seasonal ingredients.
Source quality ingredients, establish relationships with suppliers, and manage food purchasing to maintain standards and control costs.
Quality Control:
Maintain strict quality control standards for every dish leaving the kitchen.
Consistently review and taste all food items before they are served to guests.
Address customer feedback and resolve any food-related concerns or complaints.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the kitchen budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Monitor and control expenses, including food costs, labor, and equipment maintenance.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and kitchen cleanliness.
Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities.
Train staff on safety protocols and implement best practices.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to provide seamless service and a consistent guest experience.
Work with management on marketing, special events, and promotions that involve the kitchen.
What we need from you
