About the Role
Under the general direction of the Purchasing Manager, and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group ensure the receiving of kitchen, beverage and general inventory. You will ensure that the appropriate internal control procedures are followed and that you are complying with all safety standards including Safe Food Handling.
What we need from you
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team in a key operational role, where you will be responsible for verifying and managing the delivery and storage of goods. Your day-to-day tasks will include unloading trucks, ensuring goods are stored correctly, and processing returns while ensuring that credit notes are properly received and handled. You will also be responsible for checking that goods received match purchase orders and invoices in our inventory system, Purchase Plus, ensuring both price and quantity accuracy. You will assist with month-end stock takes and inventory audits, track inventory levels, and provide support for ad-hoc projects as required by the Purchasing Manager. A forklift license is essential for assisting with unloading deliveries from the barge when needed.
In addition to business operations, this role will require a commitment to maintaining excellent guest experiences by ensuring the proper storage and rotation of food and beverage items and keeping store areas and fridges clean and organized. You will work closely with the wider team to develop effective working relationships and ensure smooth operations in both the store and kitchen. Your financial responsibilities will include the preparation and issuance of stock requisitions, processing invoices, and reporting any price variances to the Purchasing Manager. Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential for this role, as you will be handling multiple tasks and deadlines while ensuring accuracy across all aspects of inventory management and operations.
