Financial Accountant

- Use financial analysis, data trends and market information to anticipate needs, identify operating/financial issues, and recommend actions to maximize financial return.
- Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities for department heads.
- Analyze ROI for capital projects prior to committing funds and, upon completion, determine if anticipated results were achieved.
- Maximize cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory (avoid excessive supply), credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances.
- Review rates and recommend rate strategy to the General Manager; participate in sales strategy meetings.
- Controls all balance sheet accounts by preparation of monthly accounts reconciliation and actions accordingly.
- Prepares monthly invoices for other IHG hotels, General Manager, Store and Shop rentals.
- Prepares all journal vouchers for month-end closing.
- Prepares monthly Financial Statements for distribution to Department Heads and Executives.
- Responsible for month-end closing.
- Approves various city ledger transactions.
- Approves payment requests, employee advances, and petty cash prior to payment.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy.
- Handle daily financial transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support the audit process and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of financial systems and processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
