Opening this summer, we're on the lookout for a General Manager at InterContinental Lifou Wadra Bay. Boasting 50 sophisticated villas nestled around the lagoon and ocean edge, InterContinental Lifou Wadra Bay is the ultimate in luxury island experiences. The island is known for its pristine sandy white beaches, amazing diving locations with cliffs of coral, local vanilla bean plantations generous local people and rich culture. InterContinental Lifou Wadra Bay is the place to stay while exploring all that New Caledonia has to offer.
A little taste of your day-to-day
As General Manager, you will oversee all pre-opening activities, preparing for a successful opening day and beyond. You will be a visionary leader with extensive operational expertise, ready to take ownership of the day-to-day hotel direction, maximising financial returns, driving people development and empowering our team to create memorable guest experiences every step along the way.
Every day is different, but mostly you’ll be:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement pre-opening strategies, timelines, and budgets to ensure an efficient and successful launch.
- Team Building: Recruit, train, and inspire a diverse team to embody our culture of excellence and true hospitality.
- Guest Experience: Set high standards for guest service, ensuring that the property offers memorable and personalized experiences, in accordance with our InterContinental brand standards.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and ensure the hotel complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Sales & Marketing: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective launch campaigns and drive occupancy rates.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local businesses and the community to position the hotel as a top destination in New Caledonia.
What we need from you
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leader in luxury hospitality, with pre-opening experience preferred, ideally no stranger to working in a remote location.
- Strong expertise across all aspects of hotel operations, revenue management, and customer service standards.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a hands-on approach.
- Financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Fluent speaking in both English and French
- French citizenship required. Please note this role is based on the island of Lifou.
