What will I be doing?
As a Chinese Chef, you will:
- Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes, including dim sum, stir-fries, soups, and regional specialties.
- Design and create innovative menus that reflect traditional and contemporary Chinese cuisine.
- Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Ensure the highest standards of food presentation, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen.
- Monitor food costs, inventory, and wastage to meet budget targets.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and the culinary team for menu planning and special events.
- Engage with guests, understand their preferences, and deliver exceptional dining experiences.
To successfully fill this role, you should have:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chinese Chef in a hotel or high-end restaurant setting, with expertise in Cantonese, Sichuan, or other regional Chinese cuisines.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of authentic Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
Qualifications:
A degree or certification in culinary arts, with a focus on Chinese cuisine, from a recognized institution.
