Manager, Group FP&A - Competitor Intelligence
The role
Are you passionate about driving business decisions with data and insights? This role offers the opportunity to deliver valuable financial, analytical, and business intelligence to partners across the globe. You will play a pivotal part in analysing broader hotel markets, the macro-economic environment and key competitor performance, providing in-depth insights across financial metrics and wider business trends to inform and shape strategic decisions.
Your day to day
Deliver Business Insights on Competitor Results
- Analyse and provide detailed insights into key competitors' quarterly results, ensuring the wider IHG community is informed, including C-Suite executives, Regional FP&A, and Global FP&A teams.
- Communicate actionable insights from competitor performance to help guide strategic planning and decision-making across various business functions.
Support Investor Relations with Industry Data Requests
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting of industry trends to support IHG’s external communications with investors and analysts.
Contribute to Industry Forecasting and Planning
- Play an active role in the planning process by providing accurate industry forecasts and market outlooks that inform business strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that industry forecasts are aligned with broader company goals and financial objectives.
Collaborate with Strategy Teams on Market Insights
- Work closely with the Strategy teams to provide valuable insights on market dynamics, industry trends, and competitor behaviour.
- Assist in developing strategic recommendations based on in-depth analysis of market conditions and competitor activities.
Support the Development and Operation of Data Dashboards
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of industry, competitor and macroeconomic data dashboards, ensuring they provide valuable, up-to-date insights for business decision-makers.
- Ensure dashboards effectively track key performance indicators and deliver insights into market and competitor movements.
Drive Ad-Hoc Projects and Research Initiatives
- Take the lead on a variety of ad-hoc research projects and data requests, such as deep dives into competitor performance, regional market analysis, and industry-specific trends.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business initiatives and decision-making across the organization.

Critical Expertise & Experience
- Proven ability to work with diverse data points, with experience using tools like Tableau and conducting comprehensive research on a wide range of topics.
- Strong presentation skills, both written and oral, with the ability to clearly communicate complex information to varied audiences.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Solid experience with Excel, particularly in data modeling, including advanced functions like look-ups, pivots, and other calculations.
- Familiarity with Tableau is beneficial but not essential.
