Your Day to Day

The Front Office Intern supports the daily operations of the Front Office Department, gaining practical experience in front desk services, telephone operations, and bell desk activities. The role focuses on delivering warm, professional, and efficient guest service while assisting with guest arrivals and departures, handling telephone inquiries, managing luggage, and coordinating guest requests with other hotel departments.

The intern is expected to maintain the hotel’s service standards, demonstrate a positive attitude, and contribute to creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience.

Some of your main role responsibilities are:

• Welcome guests warmly and assist with check-in, check-out, registration, and general front desk operations under supervision.
• Answer incoming telephone calls professionally, direct calls to the appropriate departments, handle inquiries, and relay messages accurately.
• Assist guests with luggage handling, delivery, storage, and collection during arrivals and departures.
• Escort guests to their rooms when required and provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring guest satisfaction and escalating complaints or concerns to the supervisor.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Reservations, Concierge, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and efficient guest service.
• Maintain accurate records, including guest requests, telephone messages, luggage logs, and shift handover information.
• Maintain professional grooming, follow hotel policies and safety procedures, and ensure the front desk, lobby, and bell desk areas remain clean and organized.

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for: 

• Previous experience/On job training in a similar position
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to hotel operational requirements.
