We believe every plate tells a story. So, we’re searching for a Sous Chef with a palate for serving up dishes that will create moments of delight. Whenever and wherever our guests choose to dine. Behind the scenes, you’ll ensure quality, maintain high standards and keep the kitchen running smoothly alongside our Head Chef.

Our hotel offers buffet breakfast, in-room dining, conference & events (with catering) and a bustling restaurant and cocktail bar, Ivy & Jack. Perched on the doorstep of Perth CBD, Ivy & Jack welcomes you to an urban industrial-chic restaurant that offers daily $15 lunch specials, group bookings, daily happy hour and 'Fab Fridays' featuring $15 cocktails.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • Manages kitchen operations and ensures compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures.
  • Estimates daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicates production needs to kitchen personnel daily.
  • Assists Head Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Fostering and leading a positive work environment for all employees.
  • Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done.

 

What we need from you:

  • Certificate in culinary (commercial cookery) preferred 
  • have 3-5 years’ experience as a Sous chef or similar in a high-volume outlet
  • Completed Food Handling Certificate
  • Must have the ability to manage a kitchen. 
  • Understanding of Food Safety standards and HACCP.
  • Computer knowledge and skill level for basic office functions
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
