Role Purpose

The IT Architect is a member of a team delivering new technology capabilities to the Company’s owners, customers, and partners within the organization. The IT Architect helps set the vision and parameters that Agile delivery teams operation within. In addition, the IT Architect helps build and support governance processes that ensure that team deliverables meet the Company’s standards for performance, availability, quality, security, and maintainability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leads the architectural efforts of large, complex projects (e.g., a family of products or IT services) involving multiple vendors, multiple technologies, leadingedge technologies, and broad implications for architecture and develops roadmap incorporating industry best practices.
  • Leads the development of complex proposals related to integrating multiple architecture domains (i.e., process, application, data, infrastructure).
  • Manages the architectural lifecycle, ensuring that engineering and maintenance phases conform to the architecture.
  • Makes strategic decisions about system design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Analyzes systems and processes from end to end.
  • Analyzes quality attributes of solutions and evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Interacts with clients or senior management in geographically and/or socially diverse teams on strategic operations, serving as an expert in several specialties or components.
  • Participates as a member of a team to assess and recommend a migration strategy to new technologies.
  • Stays current on latest technologies and trends.

Solution Architecture & Design Authority

  • Own the end-to-end solution architecture across Oracle HCM Cloud modules — Core HR, Payroll, Time & Labor/Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, and Learning.
  • Lead fit-gap analysis and solution-option evaluation; recommend configure-vs-extend-vs-integrate approaches with clear trade-offs.
  • Author and own high-level design documents (HLDDs) and solution blueprints that translate requirements into executable designs.
  • Act as design authority in architecture and design reviews; approve significant technical decisions and keep the platform coherent.

Integration & Data Architecture

  • Define the integration architecture across the HCM ecosystem — Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP services, HDL/HSDL, HCM Extracts, and event/atom feeds — connecting UKG Pro WFM, enterprise data platforms, the LMS, ServiceNow, and identity systems.
  • Establish data architecture standards: data models, lineage, mastering, reconciliation, and quality across upstream and downstream systems.
  • Set patterns for resilient, secure, and observable integrations.

Security, Identity & Compliance by Design

  • Architect HCM security — role design, data security, and segregation of duties — as a first-class part of every solution.
  • Design identity and access flows across Oracle HCM, identity/access management (e.g., MyID/OIM), and SSO (SAML/OAuth), including the joiner-mover-leaver lifecycle.
  • Embed statutory, tax, and regional compliance requirements (including complex markets such as EMEAA/Japan) into solution designs, and ensure controls over sensitive transactions are designed in, not bolted on.

Target-State & Technology Strategy

  • Own and evolve the target-state architecture and technical roadmap for the platform, including modernization (e.g., Redwood UI), extension strategy (PaaS/VBCS), and technical-debt reduction.
  • Assess Oracle's roadmap and new/AI-GenAI capabilities, advising which to adopt, when, and how.
  • Perform architectural impact analysis for Oracle's quarterly release cycle and vendor changes.
