Job Summary

The Server Assistant supports the restaurant service team by ensuring guests receive attentive, efficient, and exceptional service throughout their dining experience. Working at The Americano, an elevated Italian-inspired restaurant at InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, the Server Assistant works closely with Servers, Bartenders, Hosts, and culinary colleagues to maintain a polished and seamless dining experience.

The ideal candidate is energetic, team-oriented, detail-focused, and passionate about hospitality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist Servers in providing exceptional and timely guest service.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly set dining tables before, during, and after service.
• Deliver and clear plates, glassware, silverware, and other items throughout the dining experience.
• Assist with resetting tables quickly and efficiently while maintaining restaurant standards.
• Refill water and assist with beverage service as directed.
• Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs throughout service.
• Communicate guest requests and special needs to the appropriate Server or Manager.
• Assist Servers with food delivery and ensure dishes are delivered to the correct table.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and side stations.
• Restock silverware, glassware, napkins, condiments, and other service supplies.
• Assist with opening and closing side work and restaurant cleaning procedures.
• Support the team during high-volume periods to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow established grooming and uniform standards.
• Provide friendly and professional interactions with guests and colleagues.
• Support other Food & Beverage departments and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Guest Experience

• Create a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.
• Demonstrate genuine hospitality and a positive attitude throughout each shift.
• Respond promptly to guest needs and communicate concerns to management.
• Maintain awareness of VIPs, special occasions, dietary requests, and other guest preferences.
• Represent The Americano and InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta with professionalism and pride.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for providing exceptional guest service.
• Must be available to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to follow directions and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry trays, dishes, glassware, and supplies.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the restaurant.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
