As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the safe and timely transportation of hotel guests, providing assistance with luggage, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Safely drive guests to and from the hotel, airports, local attractions, and other destinations as required.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly demeanour at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws and hotel safety policies to ensure the safety of guests and fellow drivers.
- Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs, offering door-to-door service when necessary.
- Greet guests upon arrival and departure, offering a warm and welcoming attitude.
- Assist guests with carrying luggage, delivering it to their rooms or car.
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining hotel amenities and services.
- Provide information about the hotel's facilities, transportation options, and local attractions.
- Regularly check and maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle(s).
- Ensure that vehicles are fuelled, well-maintained, and serviced as required.
- Report any vehicle issues or damage immediately to the supervisor.
- Provide assistance with guest requests, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
- Resolve guest issues in a calm and effective manner.
- Act as a liaison between guests and other hotel staff members.
- Assist with other hotel duties, such as running errands or performing minor maintenance tasks when needed.
- Adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading packages, deliveries, and guest belongings
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience in a hotel or transportation-related role is preferred.
- Experience driving large vehicles (e.g., vans, shuttles) is a plus.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Ability to carry and handle heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Friendly, courteous, and professional appearance.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and guest complaints with patience and tact.
- Knowledge of local roads, landmarks, and popular attractions.
- Familiarity with hotel operations and customer service expectations.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications (e.g., first aid, defensive driving) are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license (with a clean driving record).
- Any additional certifications required by local regulations (e.g., chauffeur's license).
