The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests visiting The Americano. This role is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and personalized arrival experience while managing reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow throughout the restaurant.

The ideal candidate is polished, personable, highly organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival with professionalism and genuine hospitality.
  • Manage the restaurant's reservation system, waitlist, and seating assignments efficiently.
  • Coordinate guest seating to ensure an even flow of service throughout the restaurant.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of table availability, server sections, and restaurant operations.
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus with a warm and engaging introduction.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Answer phones, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservation requests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area.
  • Monitor guest needs and communicate wait times accurately and professionally.
  • Assist with special requests, VIP arrivals, and special occasions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of The Americano's menu, restaurant offerings, and hotel amenities.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Support the restaurant team during busy service periods as needed.
  • Uphold InterContinental luxury service standards and IHG's True Hospitality values.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Host/Hostess, Greeter, or in a customer-facing hospitality role preferred.
  • Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, or fine dining environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of reservation and seating management systems preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
