Finance Placement – Financial Reporting | IHG Hotels & Resorts

Your placement at a glance 
For university students looking for a finance placement. 
Location: Finance and Technology Hub, Branston, Burton upon Trent. 
Start date: 23 August 2027. 
Duration: 54 weeks, including a two-week handover with the current placement student. 
Working pattern: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days in the office each week.

Support our Regional Financial Reporting teams, with opportunities to work alongside Group Financial Reporting and Treasury. You’ll: 

  • Prepare monthly accounting reviews for the Americas and EMEA regions, supporting management review and compliance with financial controls. 

  • Help deliver monthly and quarterly reporting by running financial reports and trial balances.

  • Support the preparation of UK statutory accounts and apply iXBRL tagging, which labels financial information for filing with HMRC. 

  • Help prepare the Group Financial Statements section of IHG’s Annual Report and Form 20-F accounts.

  • Carry out system user access reviews to support financial controls.

  • Work with Treasury on bank reconciliations, banking access reviews and financial exposure reports.

  • Get involved in ad-hoc global projects alongside your day-to-day reporting work.
