Craft and serve a variety of high-quality coffee and tea beverages in accordance with established recipes and standards.

  • Ensure the consistency of flavor, presentation, and temperature of all beverages.
  • Prepare and serve beverages promptly, maintaining an efficient and organized work area.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, offering recommendations, and addressing guest inquiries.
  • Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests, enhancing their overall dining experience.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the coffee and tea menu, including ingredients and brewing techniques.
  • Stay informed about seasonal offerings, promotions, and any changes to the menu.
  • Upsell additional items and promote special offerings to enhance sales.
  • Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, grinders, and other tools.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of all coffee-related equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate the service of beverages with food orders for all-day dining and in-room dining.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized coffee preparation area, following hygiene standards.               

Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficient in coffee brewing techniques, including espresso preparation and latte art.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Attention to detail in beverage presentation and quality.
  • Familiarity with various types of coffee beans, teas, and brewing methods.
  • Understanding of different coffee blends, flavour profiles, and origins.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about coffee.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and departments.
