Position Overview

The Banqueting Manager is responsible for the seamless planning, coordination, and execution of all meetings, conferences, banquets, and private events hosted at Kimpton BEM Budapest. This role ensures that every function reflects the hotel’s commitment to excellence, creativity, and luxury hospitality. The manager will serve as the key liaison between clients and internal departments, delivering outstanding guest experiences while maximising revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of events from enquiry to post-event evaluation, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Liaise closely with Sales, Kitchen, R&B, AV, and FO to coordinate all logistical aspects of events.
  • Prepare and share detailed function sheets and ensure all teams are fully briefed.
  • Personally host and manage key high-profile events, ensuring elevated service throughout.
  • Monitor and manage event spaces in accordance with brand standards and safety regulations.
  • Manage and train a team of event service staff, setting clear expectations and leading by example.
  • Ensure proper billing, cost control, and financial tracking of events.
  • Actively participate in site visits, client meetings, and menu tastings as required.
  • Foster strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, and local partners to drive repeat business.
Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or event venue.

Strong understanding of high-end guest expectations and service standards.

Proven experience managing a team and coordinating large-scale events.

Excellent communication, organisational, and multitasking skills.

Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

Fluent in Hungarian and English; additional languages an advantage.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays based on business needs.
