An assistant laundry manager's responsibilities include:
  • Inventory: Taking inventory of linens and uniforms, and laundry supplies 
  • Equipment: Operating and monitoring washing, drying, and dry cleaning machinery, and reporting faulty equipment and maintenance needs 
  • Training: Training employees on laundry procedures, safety procedures, and equipment operation 
  • Quality control: Inspecting linens and terry for damage 
  • Budgeting: Assisting the laundry manager in controlling costs and expenses 
  • Formulas: Developing washing formulas for stained loads 
  • Safety: Following company safety and security policies and procedures, and reporting any accidents, injuries, or safety hazards 
  • Communication: Speaking with others using clear and professional language, and preparing and reviewing written documents accurately and completely
