Your day to day

Under the guidance of Director of Sales & Marketing as an Assistant Director of Sales you’ll provide leadership direction to your sales team by maximizing financial returns, driving development of people, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community.
This role will not be limited to the following responsibilities but will include:

  • Produce and implement an account development plan for each key account to achieve maximum revenue in both short and long term.
  • Assist in setting the annual commercial plan of the sales team within area of responsibility.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of Sales & Marketing on necessary sales plans and strategy revision to increase production from each segment and accounts.
  • Actively support the DOSM in ensuring the team is guided to achieve the goals set and also provide a leadership cover when the DOSM is away.
  • Provide feedback to the Revenue team about the competitor’s activities and respond to them appropriately.
  • Research new markets and produce market entry recommendations as required.
  • Maintain current, up to date knowledge of booking patterns, rates and sales strategies for assigned segments.
  • Assist in setting standards; supervising and reviewing colleague’s performances through regular check –in conversations and annual reviews
  • Be fully up to date with budgeted/actual/forecast targets of the segment and individual target.
  • Responsible to continuously secure below and above the line marketing opportunities to position the brand and drive sales.
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Global Sales Offices and Properties.
  • Identify and communicate ideas and customer expectations from assigned segments and territory.
  • Deliver assigned projects according to hotel standard and make sure to engage the team and coach them through the process.
  • To provide the highest possible levels of service to both external clients and internal guests at all times in accordance with company policy

Ideally, to successfully fill this role, you should have an educational degree, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business administration or a relevant field of work with 4 to 5 years of progressive work-related experience in 5 stars hotel.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented and organized.

Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment and ever-shifting priorities. Must be a team player, have strong interpersonal skills, and work well independently as well as part of a team, flexible attitude and ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
