Your Day-to-Day

Reporting to the Head Chef, our Demi Chef will play an important role within the culinary brigade, supporting the day-to-day kitchen operation while helping to develop and inspire more junior team members.

Your culinary passion and creativity will shine through every dish you prepare. You'll take pride in delivering exceptional food experiences, maintaining high presentation standards, and ensuring consistency across every service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in line with Julio's and IHG standards

• Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations

• Assisting with menu execution across restaurant, room service, and banqueting outlets

• Training and mentoring junior team members where required

• Maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and workplace cleanliness standards

• Monitoring food quality, stock rotation, and portion control

• Contributing ideas for menu development and service improvements

• Delivering outstanding guest experiences through your passion for food and attention to detail

You will also play an important part in the wider Holiday Inn culture by creating genuine connections with both guests and colleagues, helping everyone feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a passionate and motivated culinary professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering exceptional food experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar commercial kitchen environment

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

• A strong understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques

• Experience or a genuine passion for Italian cuisine and contemporary food trends

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Strong attention to detail and presentation

• The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards

• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive team culture

You will also:

• Be flexible to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Be physically capable of meeting the inherent requirements of a busy hotel kitchen

• Demonstrate a commitment to food safety and workplace hygiene

• Hold unrestricted Australian working rights with no limitations on hours
