Your Day to Day

With spectacular growth in our region - which includes a newly revamped rewards program and new brands in market - and an even bigger ambition, there couldn’t be a better time to join the IHG family.

In order to help us reach our ambition, we have created the role of Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs for Japan, Australasia and Pacific (JAPAC), based in our Tokyo support office. The role will report into our Director of Communications – JAPAC.

This is a critical role that will enable us to continue to enhance and protect IHG’s reputation, so we need a seasoned professional who can step up as our senior corporate affairs and communications representative in Japan, as well as proving broader support to the JAPAC (Japan, Australasia & Pacific) region.

You will be responsible for corporate communications, including internal, external and owner engagement, as well as crisis communications, government relations, public affairs, and supporting our Journey to Tomorrow. You will sit on the Japan Performance Leadership Team and will be the business partner to the Managing Director Japan, providing counsel, media briefings, and training to key leaders as required.

社内、社外、オーナーとのコミュニケーション、クライシスコミュニケーション、ガバメントリレーションズ、パブリックアフェアーズ、Journey to Tomorrowのサポートなど、コーポレートコミュニケーションに関わる業務を担当していただきます。また、日本代表のビジネスパートナーとして、必要に応じて主要なリーダーへのアドバイス、メディアへのブリーフィング、トレーニングなどを行います。



What we need from you

To be successful in this role the following skills and attributes are essential would be highly desirable.  

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in corporate communications or corporate affairs.
  • Clear and confident level of written and spoken English and Japanese
  • Experience of working within a complex business with a range of stakeholders with different needs and interfacing with senior people.
  • Experience working with media in Japan would be an advantage
  • Is confident, credible and compelling when working with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to engage and inspire with energy and belief in building an enviable reputation
  • Ability to stay calm and provide measured advice in a crisis situation.
  • Collaborative approach and partnership mind set - able to build strong relationships and be known as a trusted advisor
  • A can-do attitude, with a track record of delivering complex programmes of work.
  • Demonstrates an ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks in a demanding, fast-paced work environment. 
  • Experience of managing agencies and budgets.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across a matrix / virtual team.
  • Strong expertise in PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • 危機的な状況でも冷静に判断し、適切なアドバイスを提供することができる方

  • 複雑なプログラムをこなした実績があり、実行力のある方
  • 要求の厳しい、ペースの速い仕事環境において、複数のタスクに優先順位をつけ、処理する能力を示せる方
  • ベンダー管理及び予算管理経験
  • マトリックス/バーチャルチームで効率よく働ける能力がある方
  • パワーポイント、ワード、エクセルの経験
