Your day to day

Financial returns: Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Make recommendations and participate in CAPEX planning to ensure the high quality product of the Hotels long term. Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on increasing productivity. Maintain proper inventory levels, managing cost per room for supplies and labour (e.g. linen and laundry operations).


People: Manage day-to-day manning requirements of both hotels, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for your direct reports. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve team’s performance. Drive Colleague Heartbeat scores for departments. Educate and train all employees in compliance with governmental and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties in accordance to the IHG brand standards and policies. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department heads. Spearhead deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping colleagues during high volume periods.


Guest experience: Inspect all assigned guest rooms, VIP rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction. Advise employees of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action. Provide adequate retraining as needed. Routinely perform all housekeeping duties necessary including making beds, and vacuuming and cleaning guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction. Lead the routine Crash Program and deep cleaning project for both Hotels to maintain high quality of cleanliness at all times throughout the year. Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction reflected on Guest Heartbeat, 3rd party review sites (GSI), Loyalty Recognition and Quality of the winning matrix. Lead the Brand Audit Quality 360 process to maintain pass in Cleanliness and Condition Scores for both Hotels. Carry out special needs and requests of the guests, VIP’s and repeat visitors.


Responsible business: Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and maintaining “green” initiatives (example: container recycling and cleaning agents). Work together with other departments to drive carbon reduction and other related IHG initiatives. May maintain procedures for security of lost and found items. Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.


What we need from you

High School Diploma / secondary education / equivalent plus one year of housekeeping experience in similar capacity in the hospitality industry. Must be able to speak local language(s).
