Your Day to Day 

With spectacular growth in our region - which includes a newly revamped rewards program and new brands in market - and an even bigger ambition, there couldn’t be a better time to join the IHG  family. Additionally, Japan continues to be a focus area of growth with 7 hotels opened since 2022 with a healthy pipeline of hotels to come. 

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Human Resources Director to business partner with our VP Operations Managing Director Japan.  The role will provide strategic and operational HR functional expertise and leadership for Japan Performance Leadership team and Hotel HR Operations. In partnership with these stakeholders, this role is responsible for the development of the Japan People Strategy and delivery of aligned HR plans.

The role will be based in our Tokyo support office and will report into the Head of Human Resources Japan, Australasia and Pacific ( Sydney based ) .

IHGでは現在、バイスプレジデント・オペレーションズ・マネージング・ディレクター・ジャパンのビジネスパートナーとなるシニア・ヒューマン・リソース・ディレクター・ジャパンを募集しています。 

日本のパフォーマンス・リーダーシップ・チームとホテル人事オペレーションズに対して、戦略的・業務的な人事機能に関する専門知識とリーダーシップを提供して頂きます。

ステークホルダーとのパートナーシップのもと、日本の人材戦略の策定と連携した人事計画の実施を遂行して頂きます。

東京のサポートオフィスを拠点とし、日本、オーストラレーシア、パシフィック（シドニーオフィス）の人事部長の直属となります。

What we need from you 

To be successful in this role the following skills and attributes are required;  

• Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Hospitality & Tourism management or similar field, CIPD or equivalent professional qualification/expereience
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HR Generalist and/or Talent COE, at least 3 years at senior management levels
• Demonstrated expertise in Industrial and Employee Relations matters 
• Demonstrated experience in roles requiring a high level of business acumen including change management
• Demonstrated experience in HR leadership within a global service industry, matrix structure.
• Sound understanding of talent and performance frameworks and which levers to pull to strengthen talent pipeline
• Capability to link and leverage talent and other HR initiatives  into the business strategy
• Ability to engage, inspire and influence stakeholders both directly and indirectly. 
• Demonstrated experience and strength in project leadership 
• Strength in utilizing tech and analytics within HR and experience in using data to form insights 
• Experience of managing indirect or dotted line reports/area leads and working within global matrix environment
• A Growth mindset and focus on continual quality improvement. A curiosity for innovation and best practise in new world of work
• Japanese language desirable but not essential
• A strong understanding of IHG Human Resources systems, policies and processes highly desirable 
• This role is offered with a local package with some support for accommodation and living expenses in country if required

- 人事管理、経営管理、ホスピタリティ＆ツーリズムマネジメントまたは類似分野の学士号、CIPD(Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) または同等の専門資格・経験

- 人事ジェネラリストおよび/またはタレントCOE(Center of Excellence)において8年以上の実務経験（少なくとも3年は管理職レベル）

- ホテル業界及び労務に関する専門知識 

- チェンジマネジメント及びビジネス洞察力を必要とする職務で実証された経験

- グローバルなサービス業界、マトリックス組織における人事リーダーシップの経験 

- タレントとパフォーマンスのフレームワーク、およびタレントパイプラインを強化する術をよく理解していること

- タレントおよびその他の人事イニシアチブをビジネス戦略に結び付け、活用する能力

- 直接的、間接的にステークホルダーを巻き込み、鼓舞し、影響を与える能力 

- プロジェクトリーダーシップにおける実証された経験と強み 

- 人事におけるテクノロジーとアナリティクスの活用に強みを持ち、データを活用した経験 

-直属ではない間接的な部下/ レポートライン/エリアリードを管理し、グローバルマトリックス環境で働いた経験

- 成長できるマインドを持ち、継続的な品質向上に注力できる方

- 新しい仕事の世界におけるイノベーションとベストプラクティスに対する好奇心

- 日本語が話せることが望ましいが、必須ではない
