About Us

This exciting new role will represent the InterContinental Sydney and InterContinental Hayman Island Resort, both hotels position within Australia’s most luxurious hotels with iconic locations.

This role will report to the Director of Sales and drive business opportunities within the MICE and Luxury Consortia segments. You will be an ambassador for luxury while representing the InterContinental brand and deliver exceptional service at every connection.




Your day to day

This role will report to the Director of Sales and drive business opportunities within the MICE and Luxury Consortia segments. You will be an ambassador for luxury while representing the InterContinental brand and deliver exceptional service at every connection.

· Monitoring competitor activities and assisting with marketing intelligence
· Selling to new, existing and prospective customers in line with the sales strategy
· Negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the Hotel
· Servicing existing business through management of client account base
· Developing and maintaining regular sales calls & meeting with key decision makers
· Conducting incentive group famils to Hayman Island
· Attending MICE networking events
· Presenting to event buyers
· Luxury consortia educational program training
· Client entertaining




What we need from you

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales capacity within Australasia with a proven track record of MICE segment success
  • Comprehension of Hotel systems and revenue management principles highly desirable
  • Proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with clients and key stakeholders
  •  In-depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques
  •  Strategic and tactical thinker – ability to develop strategic sales plans, establish goals and execute
  •  Acknowledged as an expert in all aspects of new business hunting and strategies for key account management
  • Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills
  •  A passionate team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and priortise workloads
  • Previous Government, Sport or Entertainment experience would be advantageous
  • You must meet the legal requirements to live & work in Australia.
