Role Purpose


Adobe Target Experience  Required For This Role

Publish digital content for IHG’s Omni-Channel team which has accountability for proactively driving IHG’s owned marketing approach across marketing channels that receive millions of visits each day. This important role will influence how we market on key owned marketing channels and ensure flawless delivery of all marketing for campaigns and initiatives using tools such as Adobe Target and Adobe Experience Manager. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactively build and lead a successful web, app, and in-hotel marketing team that drives commercial results and engagement for our guests, in support of all IHG brands globally
  • As part of the Omni-Channel team, leverage capabilities and tools to deliver best-in-class web, app, and in-hotel marketing in support of IHG’s brands and marketing initiatives, espeicially Adobe Target and AEM.
  • Serve as the web & app  lead evangelist, bringing best practices, new ideas and keeping IHG up to speed on the latest platforms and capabilities.
  • Discover, assess, recommend, and implement platforms and tools to enhance our ability to deliver best-in-class capabilities.
  • Work with our agencies, partners, and internal resources to ensure consistent development of high-quality visual and written content across web, app, and in-hotel marketing touchpoints.
  • Define the standards, best practices, process, and governance models needed for IHG’s web, app, and in-hotel marketinginvestments. Enforce as necessary.
  • Lead omni-channel initiatives, as applicable and assigned, ensuring we have a clear delivery plan and approach in place to execute against.
  • Drive merchandising strategy that aligns to company/brand goals and campaign calendar
  • Ensure Omni-channel marketing touchpoints are in line with other marketing calendars and are complementary of efforts across marketing teams.
  • Identify capability gaps and help address opportunities to influence commercial results.
  • Create and model a service-oriented team culture and mindset that can balance strategic thought leadership with delivery and execution, and earn trust and credibility along the way.
  • Subject matter expert on marketing capabilities across our websites, apps, and in-hotel marketing.
  • Partner with field marketing and other hotel-facing marketing teams across IHG as needed to build capabilities.
  • Manage agencies required to deliver plans, ensuring alignment, consistency, efficiency, + effectiveness.
  • Provide training, advice and support to BU team members as required, including ensuring strategies and on-going web, app, and in-hotel marketing efforts are properly localized and developed.
  • Partner with consumer insights, analytics, regional teams, etc. to understand and act upon travel and hotel industry needs through web, app, and in-hotel marketing efforts.
  • Ensure web, app, and in-hotel marketing efforts are aligned with other key marketing and digital priorities and goals, such as search engine optimization.
  • Subject matter expert on ‘great marketing’ that drives customer engagement across web, app, and in-hotel marketing.
  • Effective reporting, performance data and analytics to measure ROI.

Key Skills & Experiences


Bachelors or Master's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital, Business, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.


  • 8+ years’ progressive work-related experience in eCommerce, Interactive/Digital marketing, or Creative/visual merchandising.
  • Experience in the hotel, travel, or retail industry preferred.
  • Deep experience with eCommerce & interactive/digital marketing, including knowledge of innovative technologies, digital content management systems and online tracking.
  • 3-5 years managing teams and/or significant complex projects.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Specific experience working in Adobe Target necessary.  AEM a plus. 
  • Experience of working within a complex business with a range of stakeholders with different needs and with senior roles
  • Ability to prioritize work based on alignment to broader IHG commercial objectives
  • Diplomatic and empathetic to artfully navigate occasionally competing/conflicting stakeholder agendas
  • Strong writing skills and creativity
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to develop and present data-driven recommendations successfully, promote items persuasively, and shape the opinions of others
  • Ability to maintain a service-oriented team culture and mindset, that delivers consistent, high quality work for IHG’s complex stakeholder group.
  • P&L experience
  • Comfortable working in a highly distributed team
  • Experience with enterprise-level content-marketing platforms and tool• Lead and manage team, ensuring team is engaged and empowered to deliver desired results for stakeholders that results in strong commercial performance for IHG.
  • Become an expert on IHG’s user groups, behaviors and personas to provide guidance to partner groups
