The Director of Sales will be responsible for securing room night contracts, implementing all yield strategies in aligning total sleeping room, banquet, catering and room rental revenue; achieving an optimal business mix of occupancy, rate and RevPAR. The Director of Sales will be accountable in meeting/and exceeding budget, revenue forecasting, account acquisition, hiring, training and team development in securing advanced bookings needed for a successful, profitable hotel opening and operation.

Your day to day

Execute the solicitation efforts for the hotel through effective oral and written
communication while overseeing rate, event commitments for group room sales
within the hotel. 
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients, while directing staff in mirroring same practices.
  • Direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly forecast, database/lead management systems, group booking pace report, star reports and sales meeting minutes. 
  • Execute annual business plan as defined while monitoring and making modifications deemed necessary based on current market conditions.
  • Implement and compile data for ongoing tactical action plans, monthly reports, annual goals, budget, forecasts and all reports required.
  • Professionally represent the hotel in all community and industry organizations.
  • Uphold departmental procedures in relation to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
  • Must be compliant with attendance rules and available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties that are required or assigned.

What we need from you

Salary range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually

What we offer

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s degree or two year associates in hotel management preferred
  • 2-5+ years of proven sales leadership in hotel operation. IHG branded experience is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel, Opera, Delphi, or related
  • Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management and supervision 
  • Ability to effectively listen, communicate and perform diplomacy with internal and external customers and staff in all situations. 
  • Able to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
