Your day to day

Manage the wine cellar, the sale and the service of wines and drinks. Achieving the targets set on the cost of drinks. In charge of stocks and inventories and help achieving business objectives through customer focused service delivery. Promotes the desired work culture around the five core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, One Team and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.

  • Applies all the procedures in force in the company as well as the internal memos brought to its attention by broadcast and / or display. At the request of his superiors, apply any new procedure immediately.
  • Systematically take into account the remarks of the hierarchy and apply them immediately.
  • Immediately reports to his superiors any anomalies involved in the management of the service and /or customer management making the application of these standards partially or completely impossible.
  • Respects health and safety rules, fire prevention, as well as the Internal Regulations.
  • Respect the instructions for use and cleaning of the equipment in order to prevent damage to the equipment and /or personal injury.
  • Knows all the advantages for IHG customers (IHG Member)
  • In charge of setting up tables, glassware and stands.- Control the cleanliness and supply of the cellar of the day.-Checks the regular cleanliness of the glassware table.- Created and controlled the appellations and vintages of the wine list.- Ensures the cleanliness of the wine lists.- Ensures compliance with the times allocated to each task.- Minimizes breakage.- Supports orders for aperitifs, wines, digestives, hot and cold drinks.- Advise and sell appetizers, wines, digestives, 
  • hot and cold drinks to customers.- Ensures the service of aperitifs, wines, waters, digestives, hot and cold drinks.- Ensures the coordination of drinks and dishes.- Created any additional sales opportunity by advice and listening- Guarantor of customer experience and satisfaction (interaction, etc.) in accordance with our internal quality criteria and respecting the quality deadlines set.-Integration and training of Clerks / Half Chef de rang, Trainees and Apprentices.
  • Sales approach to optimize the turnover of points of sale. Offers any innovative solution for the service in terms of loss management or income optimization.- Ensures reliable delivery of information to the client.- Must strictly comply with the cancellation / offer procedure in force in its service and in particular any cancellation and / or offered action must be traceable and justifiable at all times at the request of management.- Ensures in all circumstances the traceability and reliability of cash flows relating to collection.- Work with Manager for pricing.
  • Responsible for his wine orders.
  • Guarantor of the cost of drink for his service.
  • Respects the schedules established by his hierarchy and will be required to perform his duties at all times, day, evening or night, in force in the service.
  • Must constantly ensure that he is friendly and courteous to his colleagues while providing efficient service.
  • Keeps abreast of new techniques to improve working conditions and the efficiency of the service.
  • Performs any other task, punctual or regular within his field of competence at the request of his hierarchy and at the times that will be set.
  • Ensures that the best brand image of the restaurant is delivered to customers by its verbal and non-verbal communication and by its exemplary behavior.- Ensures effective communication within his department and throughout the hotel.- Must show initiative.- Attends meetings organized by his department.
  • Keeps his knowledge up to date on this subject.

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

  • Experience as a Sommelier, OR similar role
  • Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings
  • Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type
  • Understanding of the wine making process
  • Good communication skills
  • Availability to work
  • Certification as a Sommelier or degree in hospitality is a plus
