Join us as a Reservations Manager, and you'll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. The position is responsible for the operations of the Reservations Department by executing operational plans to deliver branded guest experience and executing yield tactics and reservations sale strategies to meet InterContinental Melbourne sales targets.


Your day to day

  • Manage the daily operations of reservations
  • Ensure brand standards are followed
  • Maintains systems as required (Opera, IHG Concerto, TPI’s)
  • Check hotel information is up to date in all channels
  • Manage “no show” reservations by investigation and recording of same
  • Maintain knowledge of special rates/ offers/ promotions
  • Monitor workload and mange staffing level accordingly
  • Supports the Sales Team with corporate and wholesale rate loading
  • Ensures the inventory between OPERA and IHG Concerto is in balance
  • Ensures arrival checks are facilitated


What we need from you


  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Proven communication skills across, phone, email & face to face style interactions
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PMS
  • Problem solving and organizational abilities
  • Flexible work approach
  • Ability to work across multiple diversified business units and market segments
  • Leader who creates a culture of execution, accountability and outperformance
  • Proactive approach, with strong drive for team results and a track record of achievement
  • Experience in managing multi-stakeholder relationships in a matrix environment which offers an environment of multiplicity, uncertainty, and change
  • Minimum 2 year’s experience in front office / guest services or related discipline including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
