Role Purpose

The Cyber Incident Response Manager is an experienced professional that is responsible for handling complex cyber security incidents and enabling continuous improvement of critical internal processes. This individual should be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, operationalize organizational processes, and build a highly effective program through team development.

Key Accountabilities

  • Applies knowledge and a thorough understanding of Incident Response concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to lead the investigation of threats
  • Collaborates across Information Security and business partners to ensure effective, precise, and rapid response to organizational threats
  • Recommend and implement changes in security technology and practices in accordance with industry standards and best practices
  • Provide technical advisory services to business and technology teams concerning security controls and identify areas for improvement
  • Create and review standards, guidelines, and procedures to meet IHG Information Security Policies as well as regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate vendors for new and existing solutions to assist in providing security assurance functions
  • Conduct business analysis to assist business units in integrating security into their work.
  • Recommend and implement changes in security policies and practices in accordance to risks identified and regulatory requirements
  • Independently provide solutions to security problems in a cost-effective manner.
  • Assist in developing and executing security awareness training
  • Develop, manage, and maintain processes to ensure centrally managed services and solutions are compliant, including the tracking of all supporting reporting activities
  • Understands and uses operational metrics to facilitate continuous improvement of business processes

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Highly Desired Certification: CISSP
    Preferred Certifications: CISA, CRISC, SANS, ISA, ISC2

Experience

  • Typically, a minimum of 10+ years of progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies, or processes related to the position.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of privacy and regulatory compliance including information security enterprise risk assessments, PCI remediation, data protection and strategy
  • Advanced knowledge of preventative security controls, particularly in relation to protecting applications and data (i.e., firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, anti-malware systems, cross-site scripting libraries, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of security processes such as vulnerability management and risk assessment
  • Advanced knowledge of SOX, SOC, PCI, and regulatory security audit programs and audit procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of operating system security controls (e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix)
  • Advanced knowledge of IP networking and network protocols, architecture, and concepts
  • Understanding of business and information technology and security management processes
  • Advanced knowledge of design and development processes and business requirements analysis
  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation
  • Superior understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to apply information technology solutions to solve security problems
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to security
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of 3rd party integrations and issues surrounding it (Extranets)
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
