Holiday Inn Dandenong is located in the heart of Dandenong, just 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD and conveniently located in the centre of the retail precinct. Our full service hotel has a range of fresh and bright facilities to make your time with us extra comfortable while you explore all that Regional Victoria has to offer.

Your day to day

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from dynamic, confident and ambitious Maintenance Managers who know what it takes to exceed guest expectations. Being a part of this Pre-Opening team will see you setting this beautiful, fully renovated hotel up ready to receive its first guests. 

In the Pre Opening period our Maintenance Manager will have an exciting and varied role. Your day could be focused on making sure the hotel will open in line with our Brand Fire Life Safety Standards in place or maximizing our energy efficiency through our various systems and tools. 

You will be passionate about the hotel and our Holiday Inn brand, and so you will be actively a part of the recruitment process for you team - ensuring they share the same passion for safety, compliance and sustainability you do.

You will be comfortable navigating budgets and monthly P&Ls, forward thinking in how we can be more efficient as a business through preventative maintenance programs and be knowledgeable in major hotel equipment (example: lighting, refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning, water treatment systems, and pools)

And to top it off you will be eager to jump in and give the team a hand to to manage and place all the incoming fixtures and equipment, bedding, glassware and crockery ( among other things!) to get our hotel ready to welcome guests

What we need from you

Our Maintenance Manager will have a few key traits that will see them successful in this exciting opportunity

  • At least two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Hotel Maintenance or facilities management experience preferred.
  • Current trade certificate in refrigeration, air-conditioning, water treatment systems or electricals
  • You’ll be familiar with Microsoft Office, a building management programme and/or any other reporting tools like HotSos, Opera.
  • On top of building equipment and hand tools, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot.
  • Compliance – Thorough understanding of Australian Standards for fire & building compliance.
  • Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
