Your day to day

Its not everyday you have the opportunity to create culture, vision and what you want to be known for from scratch! Being a part of this pre-opening hotel team at Holiday Inn and Suites Geelong will give you exactly that - working with the General Manager to be a part of every hiring decision to give the same incredible opportunity to excited, dynamic individuals who cant wait to bring this fun inviting brand to life! You will use your natural organizational and prioritizing skills to navigate the varied days, working with a sense of calm urgency to develop process, build strong culture and relationships, provide strategic advice to the GM and hotel leaders, effectively recruit and train the hotel team and ensure the focus remains on ensuring business capability and meeting PreOpening goals. At IHG we value workplace flexibility, and while in the pre-opening phase ( approx 4 months ) this role will be full time hours, we are open to to flexible working arrangements and options after the hotel opens its doors


What we need from you

To be successful in this role you’ll have demonstrated excellence in the HR field as well as strength in internal stakeholder and owner management. You will be comfortable in executing branded service delivery and will have an ability to impact and influence the overall business agenda and execution. You will be known amongst your peers as being warm, approachable and mix that with your inspirational style and forward thinking approach. Ideally you'll have a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related discipline, with a minimum of 2 yrs + experience in Human Resources Management role. Experience setting up systems and processes will be an advantage. A solid understanding of Employee Relations practices, industrial relations and the ability to deal effectively with employees across diverse cultures and build management capability, will spell success in this role.
