Duties and Responsibilities 

Clean and service the assigned public areas according to established quality standards and procedures. Assist with guest requests.

PEOPLE

  • Liaise with Housekeeping Supervisor in relation to chemical usage, problems, or rectification suggestions
  • Contribute to Housekeeping Departmental Meetings & Improvements

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Ensure working knowledge of all hotel public areas
  • Ensure cleaning schedules are completed in a routine and timely manner 
  • Maintain knowledge of special programs and events in the hotel in order to recognize and respond to guests needs
  • Maintain Hotel information to be able to provide information to guests
  • Assist guests and escort them to locations within the hotel at their requests
  • Complete tasks as directed by Management
  • Refer major complaints to management 
  • Works in line with business requirements

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Respond to emergencies effectively and efficiently
  • Operate equipment safely and sensibly
  • Maintain stock levels
  • Recycle where possible

 

Accountability

Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor or designate, and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group brand and hotel’s policies and procedures, responsible for all Houseperson duties. You will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways of the InterContinental Hotels Group and embrace the IHG Commitment.          

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Primary Education or equivalent. Some housekeeping experience. Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; 

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Able to read and communicate
  • Good communication skills

The hourly pay range for this role is $28.66 to $29.76. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in San Francisco, CA. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
