What’s the job?
As a Housekeeping Attendant – you’ll make sure our rooms, suites, public areas, guest amenities and facilities are always ‘fresh and welcoming’ for our guests after a busy day at work – creating a haven for them to escape and relax in - or get a bit of last-minute work done.
Your day-to-day
• Be a friendly face - you’ll be happy to help if someone needs a toothbrush or directions for example
• Utilising HotSOS request system for internal requests
• Attending to guest requests in a timely manner, and recording guest preferences as they arise
• Check out, service and deep cleaning of rooms, and public areas in line with brand standards and the IHG Clean Promise
• Maintaining equipment and pantries daily, ensuring cleanliness and accurate par levels
• Taking control of linen stores – stocking up with clean linen and removing dirty linen, ensuring rejected linen is placed aside
• Participate in monthly stocktake of Housekeeping equipment and stock
• Notify maintenance immediately of any repair needs
• At times you may be asked to work closely with the Maintenance Manager, assisting with basic tasks
• You will need a solid understanding of safe working habits and chemical handling
• Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, and evaluate risks associated with them, and design and implementation of hazard control measures
• Meet daily productivity and targets set by the Hotel, as directed by your leadership team • Keep up to date on room servicing and progress to your leader
• Accurately log and store all lost property, according to Hotel policy and procedure
• Environmental sustainability is a key metric for the Hotel to adhere to – Be responsible to assist with business goals that reduce environmental impact
• A team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads
• Assist with other duties as directed
What we need from you
• Previous experience within a housekeeping environment is desirable (not required)
• Look smart – adhere to personal grooming and hygiene standards
• Great communication skills, and excellent attention to detail
• Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster – nights, weekend and public holiday shifts are all part of the job
• Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with bending and kneeling. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull objects like linen, beds and vacuum cleaners, up to 23 kg – we have the equipment to support you
• Motivated – your presence will impact your team and our guests; therefore, it will be important to stay motivated and energised
• You must meet the legal requirements to work in Australia
