Staybridge Suites IAH Airport East is searching for an experience Sales professional to fill the position of Sales Manager.
Your day to day
Overview: The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact the hotel’s top line room and event revenues based on the goals assigned to the hotel. 50% of this job requires outside sales calls.

Responsibilities and Duties: • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner. • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which includes a nametag and proper attire when working. • Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures • Meet or exceed revenue productivity, booking goals and sales activity goals • Operate the Sales Department within established sales expense budget. • Initiate and follow up on leads; create proposals and other communication for clients • Coordinate catering support services such as flowers, DJ/Bands, decorations etc. to the hotel for events • Inspect room sets and ensure they meet client expectations • Meet and greet clients at the start of events and ensure all client expectations are met • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel including each department • Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program. • Routinely make outside sales calls to clients and prospective clients. • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market or assigned segment. • Utilize the sales system according to company standards. • Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies found in the sales system. • Invite clients to the hotel for tours and site inspections. • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property to the specific organization that is touring • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner. • Be familiar with all company and brand sales policies and selling techniques. • Understand the competitors in the market and the strategy to sell against them; complete S.W.O.T. • Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST) • Participates in Lobby Ambassador program • Cross-sell other Terrapin hotels • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written. • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. • Must be respectful and maintain a calm demeanor. • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems. • Implements a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering high level of service.
