Your day to day

As the Hotel General Manager, you'll manage every part of the rooms, maintenance, health and safety, revenue and sales in the hotel whilst working closely with the management team of the restaurant and food and beverage outlets. You'll have a close involvement in all rooms led operations, multi-skilling the team to ensure an efficient but effective business, as well as creating a fun atmosphere and ensuring a highly personalised and locally inspired guest experience. You will adopt a hands-on approach to maintain quality and will lead the team in evaluating and improving safety, security and energy conservation. You will establish clear performance goals for the team and provide regular feedback to them through coaching and support. You'll be a leader who inspires the team by understanding their individual needs and working with them in an approachable way.  

 

Acting as a Brand Ambassador, you'll set an example for team members, encouraging them to be curious and build real connections with guests to deliver the brand objectives. You'll know how to place the brand at the centre of all communications, marketing initiatives and actions and use social media to connect with the neighbourhood and potential guests, using this channel to maximise revenue. You will also balance short-term actions and decisions with the longer-term impact on the business giving maximum return on investment for your owner's equity.

The ideal Hotel General Manager candidate is likely to have 5 years or more managerial experience in an upscale or luxury boutique hotel and be someone who possesses initiative and a sense of curiosity, with a reputation for delivering high standards of service and creativity.
