Meet Holiday Inn Express & Staybridge Suites Niagara-on-the-Lake, the areas first dual-branded, modern new hotel at the gateway to EVERYTHING Niagara! We are looking for a dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing to join our team and embark on an exciting career.
Your day to day
You will lead the day-to-day activities for yourself and the sales team in order to plan, organize, and execute innovative and effective sales strategies to generate increased awareness and business for both globally recognized branded hotels. By demonstrating a “lead by example” attitude and management style, you will be responsible for developing new accounts, and ensuring that both hotels are successfully launched across multiple business segments. You will develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group, business transient and leisure guests. You will create and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans; analyze current/potential market and sales trends and coordinate all activities to increase revenue and market share. The Director of Sales & Marketing will also develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attend out-of-town conventions and trade shows to promote new business and increase sales for both hotels. Additional requirements include a passion to respond quickly and effectively to inquiries for group guestroom blocks, business travel RFP’s and self-confined meeting or extended stay projects. You will contribute significantly in weekly IHG-led Revenue Management meetings to ensure that revenues are maximized through expert rate and inventory management practices. You will play a key role to assist the General Manager in development of Sales & Marketing Plans and Budgets. You will also lead efforts to fully align with IHG’s Global Sales & Marketing teams to maximize brand benefits. Along with Vrancor’s Regional Marketing Manager, you will have a lead role in creating and maintaining highly compelling on-and-off-line campaigns for both hotels, delivered through best-in-market websites, various e-Channels, display ads, local partnerships and sales collateral materials.
What we need from you
- High School Diploma (University degree in related field preferred)
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Hotel Sales leadership position with direct reports
- Excellent telephone skills, ability to handle multiple tasks with strict deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- High proficiency in MSWord, Excel & Outlook.
- Knowledge of Opera PMS and extended stay sales strategies are also valued.
- Essential elements of success include strong organizational skills, accuracy in document preparation and savvy digital online & social media skills.
- You must be able to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, brand meetings, etc. You may be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
