The InterContinental® Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa will comprise 351 keys, a health club, spa, and two pools. Covering an area of 43,770 sq. m, the resort is a short drive from famous archaeological sites such as Dhayah Fort and Sheba’s Palace.

Your day to day

As the Director of Revenue Management, you will assess, evaluate and implement revenue generation strategies to ensure the maximization of revenue. You will establish a demand calendar for rooms and catering future pace. You will be using the tools provided (i.e. IBP) and in compliance with the IHG standards, maintain, update and share information in the areas of a master calendar of external events, competitor rate intelligence, RevPar penetration (RGI), arrival and spending patterns of commercial accounts, denial reports, meeting space allocation, guest capture rates (with the F&B Mgr), Loyalty program penetration both overall and by account (and for bookers), system contribution and trends in rooms and non-rooms revenues by channel, segment and account.

You will determine hotel pricing policy for all segments reflecting market conditions and competitive environment in conjunction with each specialist Head of Department. You will monitor group ceilings with forecast demand and approve all group and meeting request outside of the specified guideline. You will set strategies for overbooking level during high period. You will support all departments with revenue related analysis as appropriate. You will compile month end analysis and commentary. You will analyze lost business, conversion rates and lead-time in conjunction with Director of Sales & Marketing. You will assess and reviews booking behaviors and trends impacting the hotel business. You will support Director of Sales and Marketing in analyzing effectiveness of sales resources deployed and proposes adjustments as appropriate. You will be collecting and sharing market intelligence through autonomous research or tools such as STR. You will ensure consistency of Price, Product and Promotion across all distribution channels and properties. You will regularly re-evaluate package offering in line with performance and market expectations. You will track room type performance and sales statistics daily and adjusts distribution strategy and selling price in order to maximize yield. You will develop robust analytical tools by working with key partners to streamline processes for data governance. You will review GDS marketing opportunities and makes recommendations based on needs of the business.

What we need from you

InterContinental® Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa is scheduled to open Q3 2021 and we are now seeking a highly analytical and strategic Director of Revenue, who will direct the revenue management processes to maximize performance, profitability, and return on investment by creating a positive and productive revenue environment and culture.

Ideally, you will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience with a minimum of 5 years of progressive work-related experience in financial/strategic planning, revenue management, pricing with proficiencies in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes, preferably in the hotel industry or similar environment. Demonstrated knowledge of revenue management principles, effective hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization, and selling strategies are must-haves.

You must have strong communication, decision making, influencing/consensus building, and analytical skills with a clear understanding of the impact on IHG® goals and bottom line. You must also have strong leadership, team building, interpersonal and communication skills.
