We serve up truly memorable experiences for our guests. But could you be our new secret ingredient? We’re searching for a Food and Beverage Manager to give our guests a taste of the high life by empowering our teams to deliver quality service and exceptional standards.
 
A little taste of your day-to-day:

As the Director of Food and Beverage at Hotel Indigo Palau, you will be at the forefront of crafting exceptional culinary experiences and delivering top-tier service to our guests. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will provide visionary leadership to our food and beverage teams, oversee all dining operations, and uphold the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction. Your expertise in gastronomy, management, and customer service will be instrumental in creating unforgettable moments for our patrons and enhancing our establishment's reputation.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

Culinary Delivery Excellence:  

  • With the Executive Chef, curate innovative and diverse menus that align with guest preferences, seasonal offerings, and emerging food trends.  
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all food and beverage outlets.  

Operational Management:  

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, catering, and in-room dining services.  
  • Develop efficient operational procedures to enhance guest experiences, streamline service, and optimize profitability.  
  • Understanding of ordering practices for remote and/or island locations 

Team Leadership and Development:  

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire culinary and service teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.  
  • Provide training, feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members to elevate their skills and performance.  

Guest Experience Enhancement:  

  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by upholding service standards, addressing feedback, and maintaining a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.  
  • Implement initiatives to exceed guest expectations and create memorable dining experiences.  

Vendor and Supplier Management:  

  • Cultivate relationships with suppliers, farmers, and artisans to source high-quality ingredients and materials that align with our culinary vision.  
  • Negotiate contracts and partnerships to ensure favorable terms and consistent supply.  

Financial Oversight:  

  • Develop and manage budgets for food and beverage operations, including cost control measures and revenue optimization.  
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.  

Regulatory Compliance:  

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as relevant regulations and licenses.  
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food and beverage areas.  

Event Management:  

  • Collaborate with event planners to create memorable dining experiences for special events, private parties, and functions.  
  • Oversee the execution of catering services and ensure seamless event operations.  

 

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).  
  • Proven track record of 8+ years in food and beverage leadership roles, with experience in upscale dining establishments.  
  • Strong culinary knowledge and appreciation of international cuisines and trends.  
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.  
  • Experience in menu development, beverage program management, and vendor negotiations.  
  • Customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.  
  • Proficiency in hospitality software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.

What We need from you:
 
● Some college and/or advanced training in food and beverage management 
● 2 years of related experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
● Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification in Hotel Management, culinary arts, or related field preferred 
● Must speak local language 
● Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card, as required by local law
