This role, as a member of the Information Security leadership team, will work closely with security teams and key stakeholders across multiple business units to provide thought leadership, strategic analysis, and security services for the company as part of IHG's security vision. This role is responsible for the deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of security products at IHG.
The Director Security Engineering will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to execute on service delivery while driving continuous improvement. This will require relationship building at the highest levels of the organization and ability to articulate risk, business, financial, technical and performance planning and measurement. This position will ensure IT strategy is tightly aligned with the security strategy, help ensure technology strategy is clearly defined and communicated, and be responsible for reports and presentations on security service delivery.
Additionally, this position will partner with Global Solutions Delivery, Global Infrastructure Operations, and Global Hotel Owner Solutions to understand technology challenges, imperatives, and objectives in order to consult across the organization to develop strategic plans that are most appropriately targeted to provide the greatest impact to the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
- Build key relationships with the leadership team of the region/function, and other senior leaders in the company to provide coordination, insight and recommendations on strategy issues
- Establish a global security services portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement and service delivery enhancements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, industry consultants, and senior leaders to define and establish agreed upon service levels. Monitor technology service levels and ensure business partners needs and expectations are met. Improve service levels where appropriate
- Integrate activities with business units and other departments to ensure the successful implementation and support of Security Operations project efforts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education –
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Security, Computer Science, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Experience –
8+ years in years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies or processes related to the position
Interpersonal and Technical Skills and Knowledge –
-SANS, ISACA, or ISC2 certifications preferred.
-Demonstrated understanding of delivering security services.
-Demonstrated knowledge of Protective Security and its implementation.
-Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of system integration issues between diverse platforms.
-Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of presenting and discussing technical information, establishing rapport and or influence, consensus building and gaining the understanding of others.
-Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
-Experience in engaging cross functional working partnerships in a global organization
-Strong leadership, team building, analytical and thought leadership skills
