Your day to day

We’re embarking on an exciting and ambitious period of growth within our Global HR Team and we’re now looking to fill a brand new position as our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator. As our newly appointed DE&I Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive, industry-leading DE&I strategy aligned to IHG’s business goals and objectives. You will work alongside, and report directly to, our already in-place DE&I Manager.

You will be a true HR Professional looking for your next role, or an energetic individual with a passion to specialise within a truly exciting and progressive and forward-thinking HR team. You will have a genuine desire to support our colleagues and passionately champion our DE&I message. You will be required to dive headfirst into interesting and engaging projects that support IHG’s key ambitions, with plenty of opportunity to take on new tasks and build on existing programmes. You will undoubtedly create a lasting impact for our colleagues and our business whilst gaining great exposure to other directorates within IHG.

Ideally you will come with DE&I experience or have already worked within an HR environment and have a genuine desire to make a difference within DE&I. You will quickly build long-lasting and meaningful relationships across the entire business, which in turn will give you great exposure through IHG.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the implementation of the Global and UK DE&I strategy and plan of action, which includes managing the initiatives, events and programmes that support the overall objectives and goals
  • Develop internal campaigns to raise awareness, influence leaders and employees and embed Diversity, Equity & Inclusion across the organisation;
  • Work with employees and stakeholders to offer guidance and embed ongoing education initiatives on DE&I matters and to provide insight on issues impacting these groups;
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate DE&I communications, reports and surveys, events, workshops, presentations for employees and other key stakeholders in the organization
  • Partner with IHG’s Social Media Manager to share key DE&I initiatives to attract diverse prospective colleagues
  • Support with the DE&I data project to further embed DE&I in our HR management system
  • Research and manage external vendors to continue to support our DE&I strategy
  • Generate reports from our human capital management system, and format and analyse data within Excel and Powerpoint to provide needed information/insights for presentations
  • Support with external DE&I reporting activities



What we need from you

  • Experience working within HR and/or genuine passion for HR
  • Team player –flexible, positive approach
  • Strong collaborator – builds relationships across and outside the team
  • Self starter, able to work at pace
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised with evidence of multitasking and meeting deadlines
  • Intermediate/Advanced Powerpoint & Excel
  • Use of Microsoft Teams, Forms and Sharepoint preferable
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communication skills based on emotional intelligence
  • Analytical and curious mindset – comfortable using data
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with colleagues across the world

Whilst this role will initially be based in our Denham head office location, by Summer of 2022 we will be relocating to our new Global Headquarters in central Windsor so you will need to be able to travel to Windsor as required in the longer term.
