The award-winning, luxury InterContinental Sydney Double Bay is looking for a passionate Business Development Executive to join our driven Sales team. 

Your day to day

As Business Development Executive you will support the Sales, Marketing & Revenue team to achieve the hotel’s commercial priorities. We are looking for someone with a passion to grow their career with this first step into Sales & Marketing.

Your day to day activities will include but not be limited to;

  • Proactively searching for new business or up-selling opportunities in every customer you encounter
  • Identifying trends in movement of market mix, pricing, and competition to target prospects and the right business mix, and develop mitigation plans
  • Creation of proposals
  • Creating an ongoing pipeline and successfully shift business from the competition through active engagement with clients
  • Managing an account base to exceed targets with the implementation of effective sales plans and activities

What we need from you

  • The ability to develop and maintain contact with key decision makers, key influencers, meeting planners, professional conference, event organisers, and other producers closely aligned to the hotel.
  • Great written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of sales principles and techniques, good presentation, strong influencer and persuader and flexible work approach
  • Ability to develop sales plans, establish goals and objectives, set performance targets and deliver projects on tim
  • Proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with clients and stakeholders including customers’ senior management
  • Proactive approach with strong drive for results and a track record of achievement
