Perform hotel security duties and procedures to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and the property as well as the property’s assets.  Adhere to local regulations concerning OSHA, hotel emergency procedures, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures.

What is the job?

Perform hotel security duties and procedures to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and the property as well as the property’s assets.  Adhere to local regulations concerning OSHA, hotel emergency procedures, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures.

Your day to day

Financial returns:

  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
  •  Monitor budget and control labour costs and expenses with a focus on rate strategy, building initiatives and inventory management.

People:

  • Ensure the all security personnel as well as hotel’s staff are adhering to P&P and security procedures
  • Establish good cooperation with hotel’s senior staff with other hotels
  • Oversee the security department including layout of security personnel and their detailed and regular training
  • Maintain the loyalty and discipline of all security personnel
  • Works with manager on manpower planning and management needs

Guest experience:

  • Make way by escorting VIPs and dignitaries when directed and direct traffic away from Lobby and other busy thorough fares 
  • Prepare security plan for specific events (seminar, conference, government guest, with wedding etc.)

Responsible business:

  • Ensure that the safety control office is never left unattended
  • Be alert for any unusual packages, guests or vehicles and advise superior of same 
  • Be correct, secure and courteous in handling any disciplinary or criminal case
  • Implement the hotel policies and procedures and advise Superiors and Human Resources of action taken
  • Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly

Accountability:

This is the Safety and Security job in a large full-service, luxury or resort hotel. Supervises a large number of employees in multiple shift operations including Security Guards/Fire Officers/ Employee Transportation / Local liasoning etc. Oversees multiple managers and supervisors.  

 

What we need from you

Degree/ diploma in safety & Security Management or equivalent

3-4 years of security and safety experience and/or military/law enforcement experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
