Your day to day

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for leading the Housekeeping team whilst ensuring high standards are achieved.

Your day to day:

  • Make sure the quality of housekeeping and laundry services is always superb - we have standards - but it’s down to you to make rooms special and memorable for guests.
  • Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, rooms, equipment, linens, public restrooms, lobby, etc. are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction.
  • Carry out special requests from guests, VIPs, repeat visitors and club members.
  • Help guests with their questions and complaints to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Help prepare and monitor the hotel’s annual budget with a focus on increasing profitability.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels managing cost per room for supplies and labour.
  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance.
  • Educate and train all colleagues in compliance with local laws and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all colleagues are properly trained, maintain appropriate standards for dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture, conduct of Housekeeping personnel and have the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Leading the team to maximise financial performance, continuously driving productivity & cost control improvements, whilst leading and inspiring a positive and productive work environment for others.



What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

  • Previous leadership experience within a Housekeeping Department in a hotel of similar size and complexity
  • Experience in supervising a team with a focus on training and developing the team to driving high standards and colleague engagement
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office & ideally Opera
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and ability prioritise workload
  • Detail focused, with strong communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to build rapport quickly and manage multiple stakeholders
